Talent Agent (“we,” “our,” or “us”), built and operated by Stacksort LLC, helps job seekers discover roles at venture-backed startups by aggregating public job postings from VC portfolio sources and ATS providers. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our app and related sites.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Name, email address, password or sign-in token (e.g., Sign in with Apple), and optional profile details such as location, seniority, and role preferences.
Search & Filter Preferences: VC firms you follow, role types (e.g., engineering, product), seniority, industries (e.g., AI/ML, fintech), and alert settings.
Saved Items: Bookmarked companies or jobs, application notes (if you add them), and notification history.
App & Device Data: Basic analytics such as app version, device type, operating system, language, performance metrics, and crash reports.
Support Communications: Messages you send to us, including email address and any content you provide.

We also process publicly available and partner-provided job data to power the service:

Job Sources: VC firm portfolio pages and their talent networks; company career pages and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Workable); third-party feeds such as Consider (when available).
Enrichment: We may normalize and classify postings (e.g., role seniority, tech stack, location) using automated processing. Limited snippets of job text may be processed by third-party services to generate tags or summaries.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

Provide core functionality: search, filtering, bookmarking, and job alerts.
Operate the ingestion pipeline for portfolio jobs and keep listings current.
Personalize results and recommendations based on your preferences.
Communicate service updates and respond to support requests.
Monitor performance, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Storage & Security

User account data and preferences are stored securely in our cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and protected with industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit and at rest where applicable).
Public job content we index may be cached for reliability and speed; this content is not your personal data.
If you enable notifications, your device token is stored to deliver alerts.

4. Children’s Privacy

Talent Agent Pro is intended for individuals 13 years and older (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in these limited cases:

Service Providers: Trusted vendors that support hosting, analytics, error monitoring, notifications, and optional AI-based classification. They are bound by confidentiality and use your data only per our instructions.
Legal: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Business Transfers: If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred consistent with this Policy.

6. Your Choices & Rights

Access & Correction: You can view and update profile information in the app.
Deletion: You can request account deletion; we will delete your personal data subject to law and legitimate business needs (e.g., fraud prevention).
Portability: You may request an export of your data (e.g., bookmarks and preferences) in a reasonable, common format.
Marketing: You can opt out of non-essential emails via unsubscribe links.
Regional Rights: If you are in the EEA/UK or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, including the right to object or limit certain processing. We honor these rights where applicable.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period (typically 30–90 days), subject to legal retention requirements.

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

9. Third-Party Links & Sources

Job postings link to third-party websites and applicant systems we do not control. Your use of those sites is governed by their privacy policies and terms.
